Social Workers

As part of our multi-disciplinary team the social workers provide the link between the school and home. They conduct groupwork with learners as per their needs. They also provide individual counselling for learners in need of socio-emotional support. When necessary, they conduct home visits and offer the necessary support and guidance to parents.

Occupational Therapists

Occupational Therapist – Responsible for assessment, planning and goal development. For providing accommodations, and interventions designed to enhance the learner’s potential. They work with learners to help them develop functional skills for everyday life in the areas of selfcare, life skills schoolwork and play. Learners attend occupational therapy sessions either individually or in small groups. Occupational Therapists work on learners fine and gross motor abilities as well as perceptual skills.

Speech Therapist

Speech therapist works on the following areas: Feeding and oral motor activities, Speech and language disorder, Hearing testing and fitment of hearing aids and Alternative and Augmentative Communication.

Professional Nurses

Role of the School Nurses include Daily administering of prescribed medication to learners at school and hostels, dispensing of medication to learners and staff members for illness, treating of emergencies and injuries and arrange for hospital admissions for further management where necessary, Health education and Health promotion to learners and staff members as well as management of Department of Health immunizations and vaccinations.
