Rotara School

Rotara School General Information

Rotara School is a school that caters for learners with special educational needs, specifically, Severe Intellectual Disability. We do, however, accommodate learners with various other disabilities that include Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Epilepsy, Physical Handicap, Hard of Hearing, etc.


The school was established on 13 July 1972 by the Rotary Club of Carletonville. The school started with 14 learners and has now grown to approximately 170 learners. We fall under the Gauteng Department of Education. Over the years, the school has grown into an institution that strives for excellence.
